Integrations Azure Functions

Azure Functions + Finn.

Azure Functions integration with Finn. Azure Functions runs application code in response to events or web requests without managing individual servers.

What you can do with Azure Functions.

Azure Functions runs application code in response to events or web requests without managing individual servers.

Finish a request in an internal business system

Finn uses your purpose-built Azure function to complete a business action in a system that employees otherwise have to update manually.

Typically handled byBusiness systems administrator

Starts when

A ServiceNow request asks for a defined change in an internal application.

What Finn handles

  1. Read the requested change, its business record, and the decision required by the internal application's process.
  2. Gather the necessary inputs and obtain that decision before invoking the function that owns the action.
  3. Call the function and follow its returned result or Durable Functions status through completion.
  4. Update the ServiceNow request with the changed record and send the requester the completed result.

The result

The internal application's action is finished and the service request contains its business reference and outcome.

Import a supplier's operating file

Finn carries a supplier data file through your Azure transformation function and into the data workflow the operations team uses.

Typically handled byData operations coordinator

Starts when

A supplier submits its recurring inventory or service file.

What Finn handles

  1. Read the expected file layout and identify the submitted file and reporting period.
  2. Invoke the purpose-built function that validates and transforms the file into the team's agreed import format.
  3. Send the accepted output to the connected Databricks ingestion job and follow its result; obtain supplier corrections for rejected records.
  4. Publish the completed import counts and unresolved exceptions in the operations record and notify the data owner.

The result

The supplier file is loaded into the intended data workflow with its accepted and rejected records accounted for.

Complete a quote using the company's calculation

Finn collects the deal inputs, applies your pricing function, and turns the accepted calculation into a documented customer quote.

Typically handled bySales operations specialist

Starts when

A salesperson requests a quote that uses the company's own calculation rules.

What Finn handles

  1. Read the customer, product scope, quantities, and agreed commercial inputs from connected Salesforce.
  2. Call the purpose-built Azure function that owns the pricing calculation and read its itemized result.
  3. Get the commercial owner's decision for an exception or required quote approval, then generate the accepted quote through the company's document workflow.
  4. Save the quote to Salesforce and send it through connected Outlook with the agreed terms.

The result

The customer receives the accepted quote and the opportunity records its calculation and commercial decision.

Update the internal employee register

Finn applies an accepted HR change to the organization's internal register and confirms the related service work is complete.

Typically handled byHR systems coordinator

Starts when

Workday confirms a new hire, team move, or employee-detail correction.

What Finn handles

  1. Read the accepted HR event and identify the internal employee record that needs the change.
  2. Invoke the organization's Azure function with the fields owned by that HR decision.
  3. Follow the function's completed result and read the updated record reference returned by the internal system.
  4. Update the associated ServiceNow request and notify the HR owner of the completed register change or specific outstanding exception.

The result

The internal employee register reflects the accepted HR event and its service record shows the result.

File a complete customer document packet

Finn checks a submitted document packet through your validation function, collects missing items, and files the finished packet.

Typically handled byCustomer onboarding administrator

Starts when

A customer submits the documents required for an accepted onboarding process.

What Finn handles

  1. Read the packet and the organization's document checklist, keeping eligibility decisions with the business owner.
  2. Call the purpose-built Azure function that checks file metadata and required document presence.
  3. Request the missing or unreadable items through Outlook and rerun the packet check when the customer responds.
  4. File the complete packet in connected SharePoint and update Salesforce with the document links and completion record.

The result

The required customer documents are assembled and filed for the business process's next authorized step.

Deliver a recurring operations calculation

Finn runs the organization's reporting function and delivers the finished explanation and records to the team that uses the result.

Typically handled byOperations reporting analyst

Starts when

A recurring reporting deadline or an operations manager's request is due.

What Finn handles

  1. Read the reporting period, accepted calculation definition, and source inputs required by the Azure function.
  2. Run the calculation and follow its execution status, retaining the result's source dates and identified data gaps.
  3. Write the business explanation and save the report to connected SharePoint with the function's output.
  4. Send the completed report through Outlook and update the reporting task with the published report.

The result

The team receives a completed operations report with its calculation result, source period, and documented limitations.

Set up the connection around your work.

Contact Finn to discuss the records your workflow needs and the actions you want it to perform.

Your team chooses what Finn can access, what agents can change, and when a person must approve the work. The connection needs the appropriate account access and permissions from Azure Functions.
